World Boxing Council (WBC) Muaythai Singapore was set up to promote Singapore as a premier Muaythai destination for international fights. Its goal is to support local fighters by giving them opportunities for consistent growth in the sport of Muaythai, and foster and encourage public appreciation and patronage for the sport and culture of Muaythai in accordance with Thai traditions.
Our Objectives
- Ensure best practice and further the goals of fair competition, safety, consistent rules and regulations for the sport of Muaythai. Implement premium medical standards to make Muaythai as safe as possible for all competitors.
- Keep Muaythai and all related activities clean, fair and transparent for all stakeholders.
- Use the highest ethical standards and respect to provide mediation, if possible, during disputes; with the goal of providing equitable and fair outcomes for all parties involved.
In line with these objectives, WBC Singapore will:
- Organise events and competitions to foster appreciation for the sport and provide a platform for local fighters.
- Conduct classes and workshops to further the education of referees, judges and competitors, to ensure transparency, fairness and consistency across all events and competitions conducted by the Society.
- Establish a detailed set of rules, regulations and standards to be adhered to at every event and competition. This includes rules, regulations and standards for scoring and a Code of Conduct to ensure uniformity and fairness throughout the sport.
- Establish a consistent and transparent ranking system and weight divisions, to recognise all competitors in the Society’s competition and events.
- Mediate disputes or grievances between members, boards, competitors, managers, promoters, and any other stakeholders that may arise in the sport of Muay Thai.
- Work with other WBC organisations around the world to coordinate activities and organise events.
- Suspend or ban any competitor for any violations of the Constitution, Code of Conduct, or rules and regulations, at the discretion of the Committee.
- Withdraw a suspension or reinstate any competitor previously suspended or banned, at the discretion of the Committee.
